St. Paul’s OCIA and Adult Sacramental Preparation Program runs each year from early September through the Second Sunday of Easter.
It is opened to:
- Non-Catholic Adults wishing to join the Catholic Church. This includes adults who want to understand more about the Catholic Faith but may not be yet ready to join.
- Baptized Catholic Adults wishing to complete their Sacraments (e.g., Confirmation and/or First Holy Communion).
The Catholic Christian is called to proclaim and live the “Good News.” This Good News is that Jesus Christ IS LORD and GOD, that he desires to have a personal relationship with every one of us, so that we can come to share eternal life with him in heaven.
In addition to direct preparation for receiving one or more of the Sacraments of Initiation (Baptism, First Holy Communion, and Confirmation), the focus of the program is one of “formation”—formation as disciples of Jesus Christ. It aims to give participants both sufficient knowledge of and about Jesus Christ and his Church AND practical tools and experience to live out a Christian life after the program ends.
